Get to know our leadership.
For more than 30 years, I have served young adults as a teacher, counselor, and pastor and have encouraged them to be involved in growing the church and expanding God's Kingdom. My desire is to help you connect wherever it is that you are being called to serve. As the pastor of Jacob's Well, I am committed to pointing you to the truth of Scripture in challenging ways. Your questions and concerns are always welcome.
Through a variety of community service opportunities, Jacob's Well is being recognized as a positive influence in Minneapolis. I look forward to the time when people all around the UMN campus know that we are a faith community following Jesus and are committed to helping people find a place to belong.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Brenda. Together, we have raised three children and are grandparents to ten of the smartest and best looking grandkids you will ever meet!
Welcome to Jacob's Well!
I don’t have a storybook conversion story. There isn’t anything special about my faith journey. I am simply a guy who grew up in church that began to ask tough questions. Some have been answered but not all. New questions have surfaced. Challenges have risen. Through everything I have always sought to learn; to try and understand this life that we’ve been given. I have found my answers, my comfort, and my hope in Jesus Christ. And as I continue on this journey I look to share it with everyone around me. To learn from them. To teach them. To share in this life with them.
I grew up in dairy farm country of central Wisconsin. I moved to the big city of Minneapolis to attend the U of M and got connected with Jacob’s Well. In addition to transforming my life it is here where I met my wife Carrie. Together with our son Isaiah we look to serve this church, this community, and this campus.
I have been on my faith walk since I was a child with ups and downs. Jesus stepped in and pulled me out of my darkest season when I was a freshman at the University of Minnesota. Following that moment, He really began changing my life and used Jacob’s Well Church in that transformation. I began singing on the worship team as a junior, and I stepped in as worship leader in the summer of 2018. I love worshipping the Lord through music, hearing the talents of my fellow musicians, and drawing the members of our church into deeper worship.
My husband, Matthew, and I met at Jacob’s Well, and welcomed our first child, Isaiah on August 26th, 2018. Matthew and I feel called to bring the Gospel to our friends and the city of Minneapolis. I love specifically serving the students who attend Jacob’s Well and have really appreciated growing in relationship with the young women.
